Tim V, Barry L, and myself have recently discussed what perhaps could be a better alternative to the current 'Business Meeting' for handling the business of Staying Cyber. Tim V. had suggested previously that several members here in North Eastern PA get together to form, what I would call in my own words, a 'Steering Committee' to work out some of the issues we’ve been discussing. Several other participating members seem to be in agreement so we are going to give this a try. We are planning on asking if several other local members would like to join us. We feel that there are too many issues pertaining to the inception of our new meeting to discuss electronically and that discussing them in person would be more practical. After deciding on issues we would then implement them into the Guidelines and if any members are opposed to our actions they could voice their opinion, possibly causing us to reevaluate our decisions. I’m sure that we will be looking for help from other members to handle some of the duties that do not require any technical or geographical preference, so that those who wish to be involved will have the opportunity. If you have any more ideas/opinions please post them on the Business Meeting or the Coffee Pot as we are planning on considering all previous comments that were posted. We are tentatively scheduled to meet in the second week of July.

I would like to be considered for steering committee at least until it is going smoothly . Thanks for your consideration .

I have one question I asked last week oh trusted cyverants. Is there anyway to have a chat room as part of this site.
I agree with the concept of a steering committee to hash out the topics that come up either in the Coffee Pot or in the Business. However, I believe that the steering committee should make a recommendation to the rest of the group and then have the group vote on the subject or at least have substantial unanimity before a guidline is posted. To require a member to appose an action does not seem to me in the spirit of the traditions that "are leaders are trusted servants, they do not govern." Love to you all.

We did'nt forget your question from last week:
At this time it is not possible to have a chat room,it's not available on the server we are using
In the future if we move the meeting to another server, we can choose one with chatroom capabilities, at that time we will have to look into the technical requirements,to see if it will be available to all members(browsers). Some chat software require browser plugins.

I think that anyone who wishes to participate and is able to make our 'local' meetings should be able to. I realize their are those who are in Thomas’s position but it just seems to impractical to work out these issues electronically
