((ShaunaW))Welcome. Figured you could use a hug. Powerful to read how you can express that you have joy amidst what would appear to be a very chaotic set of events...bumps in the road of happy destiny, as was mentioned in our 3rd Step mtg this morning that I go & greet at every Saturday. I posted more about that on DiscMtg.

Today I got to pick up my 6 month chip, along with many others picking up other various lengths of sobriety. That was one of the joys for today. Another was coming home to do more prep work on getting stones around a waterfall back in place & I got more work done than I thought I would! I just kept wearing my thumb/wrist/hand wrap, thanking HP there are such things as Hand Occupational Therapists in the world, and focused on the task at hand. Little upsets that happened in my world over the past few weeks, like learning that the joint in that left thumb at the wrist is gone & needs surgery didn't enter my mind as I worked anyway. My back & neck herniations reminded me to take many breaks along the way, as well.

I'm finding working slowly is more productive for this sort of work. It is a wonderful joy to be able to slow down and think more clearly about what is really important in life around me, not just my own little world, but the big wide world outside of my realm, too.

I'll start volunteering for a literacy program soon, and that was something I never would've dreamed possible even just 4 months ago. I also be getting some art classes in, doing watercolor...something I've always been interested in. These & the little trip to the Luther Burbank home & gardens on Thursday rounded out a very nice week.

It is a good time in life to be sober. That time in life is Right Now! The only true time we have.
